Hi, I'm Daniel.

In 2022, I left my sweet home in Congo-Kinshasa and came to the United States to pursue a degree in Computer Science. Along the way, I fell in love with mathematics and made it part of my life and the way I think every day. My love for complex systems and abstract thinking fueled my passion for learning. You could say that I'm a little obsessed with learning. Often, I find myself spending hours trying to solve a random calculus problem or binge-watching coding videos on how to write better code, use C++ for low-latency work, or learn the stories behind some of the mathematical tools we use today. One of my favorites is the story of Euler's constant by Numberphile —a number that has caused so many headaches for students first taking Calculus I and II.

Most days, I exercise. I love staying physically active, so I run at least two miles, practice calisthenics, and go cycling at least once a week. Hey! I gotta keep my heart beating somehow. Oh, and I love going on long walks so I can be alone with my thoughts, reflect on life, and, why not, face some of my inner demons. I write poems, mostly about love and the chaotic nature of life. I bake and cook for the people I love, and whenever I can, I travel. Some of my favorite days were spent walking the streets of Sorrento during a study abroad trip in Italy. I gotta go back soon! Italy was breathtaking.

I also care a lot about making room for people. I'm an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, and I serve as president of oSTEM at OU, a community for LGBTQ+ students and allies in science and engineering.
